Foreign Ministry denies Zarif-Kerry talk on missile tests

TEHRAN, Mar. 11 (MNA) – The claims that US Kerry talked on the phone with Iran’s FM Zarif were described false and fabricated by officials of Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

An informed source from Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed the claim made by some news outlets that Mr. Zarif had a phone conversation over the latest missile drill of Iran’s IRGC.

The source added that Kerry has been sending emails for a week to have a telephone conversation with Mr. Zarif but due to busy schedule of Iranian Minister in his Asia-Pacific regional tour, he had not been able to make it.

Some news outlets quoted State Department spokesman John Kirby saying that Kerry talked with Zarif to express his concern over the missile tests.

Two types of Qadr ballistic missiles of Iran’s Revolutionay Guards Corps were test-fired during 'Eghtedar-e Velayat' drill in north of Iran on Wednesday morning.

The two ballistic missiles, Qadr-H and Qadr-F, were launched by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) from the heights of East Alborz Mountains, north of Iran, and hit targets on the Makran coasts, southeast of the country.
